In a move we surely all must have seen coming, social media giant TikTok has banned the phrase “white lives matter” by suggesting it is associated with hateful behavior and thus violating their community guidelines. That’s the latest from the rising-in-popularity Twitter profile End Wokeness, which detailed its findings by sharing a screen shot from efforts to search various phrases on the platform.
Seen below is the search the user completed for each of the following phrases: “White Lives Matters,” “Black Lives Matter,” “Asian Lives Matter,” and “Latino Lives Matter.” Only one of them was prevented from getting results.
The phrase was given renewed focus after both Kanye West and Candace Owens (both black, for the record) unapologetically donned shirts emblazoned with the “hateful” slogan at a Paris fashion show the other week and ever since then the powers that shouldn’t be have worked in overdrive to prevent more people from realizing how stupid each of these phrases are.
The tolerant left struck again, exposing their appalling lack of tolerance for dissent and personal freedom. Vogue’s contributing editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson went on a social media tirade after her fake worldview was forced to clash with reality.
“It didn’t land and it was deeply offensive, violent and dangerous,” wrote the triggered intersectional black feminist, before going on a lengthy screed against a free-thinking black person’s audicity to wear a shirt saying other people can matter too. She continued:

“It’s become clear that some viewers think my previous post containing my working, evolving thoughts on Kanye’s show was some sort of distorted justification for the incredibly irresponsible and dangerous act of sending ‘W*** Lives Matter’ T-shirts down a runway.
Please understand: it wasn’t. The tshirts this man conceived, produced, and shared with the world are pure violence. There is no excuse, there is no art here. I’m sorry I failed to make that clear—I thought I did. I do think if you asked Kanye, he’d say there was art, and revolution, and all of the things in that t-shirt. There isn’t.”
Still, there is tremendous cultural and political capital in proclaiming empty slogans out loud such as “Black Lives Matter.” If the most dangerous place for a black person weren’t the womb of a black mother, then maybe we could believe them when they spout such nonsense.
