TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #51: Dave with the Safariland Group – Survival Magazine & News

Safariland is one of the most well-known and respected names in the firearms industry, mainly because of its reputation for producing high-quality American-made duty holsters. With a heavy emphasis and focus on safety, Safariland also produces IWB holsters, armor systems, quality hearing protection and communications equipment, and even delves into firearms cleaning and maintenance products with Break Free CLP being one of the more well-known brands housed under the Safariland Group name. In today’s episode, I’ve brought on Dave from the Safariland Group to give us a more detailed look at what Safariland does, and how they’ve helped define what is and what is not a safe holster design.

TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #51: Dave with the Safariland Group

On today’s episode of the TFB Behind The Gun Podcast, we’ve reached out to David H from the Safariland Group to talk about their product lineup, company history, and some of their upcoming products that will be released around SHOT Show 2023. The Safariland Group is probably most well known for its Duty Holsters featuring the ever-popular ALS (Automatic Locking System). The Safariland Group as a whole also has several other very popular firearms products brands including Break Free, Bianchi, Med-Eng, Hardwire Armor, and Hatch Gloves. On today’s episode, Dave and I take a deep dive into the development history of Safariland’s duty-rated holsters, their expansion into EDC holsters, as well as a thorough explanation of what their retention levels mean and how that system came to be established. Please welcome Dave from Safariland to the show!
