What Does The Bible Say About Abortion?

Exodus 21:23-25
“And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Burning for burning, would for wound, stripe for stripe.”

These passages prove most conclusively that  the taking of an unborn child is a sin punishable by death!

In Exodus 21:22 The phrase “So that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow” Clearly means that if some form of trauma causes the child to be born prematurely but no other harm comes, such as death of the child or the mother due to the premature birth, then it will be up to the father/husband and the courts to determine a fair punishment.

“And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye…”  Clearly means that if However, the child does not survive the premature birth or the child or mother endure any damage  or deformity, the attacker shall pay with limb for limb.  For example if the child loses an arm in the process, the assailant will be punished by chopping off his arm.  If the child does not survive, the attacker shall be put to death.

Some pro-choice activists would have you believe that Exodus 21:22 means the mother had a miscarriage and therefore the second part of the passage only refers to injury of the mother.  This could not be more false.
