A few weeks ago, I posted about why you probably wouldn’t die during a winter power outage, but I neglected a few important additions that you’ll find in the video below. While The Patriot Nurse talks about how to reduce heat loss like I did as well as portable space heaters and whatnot, she also discusses thermal insulated blackout curtains (something I need to look into), a USGI Woobie blanket and USGI wool blanket, the necessity of building a “warm” room, safety tips when using off-grid heating (including avoiding burst water pipes), and plenty more. It’s well worth the watch if for nothing else than as a continuing reminder of just how much you can do to stay warm when the power goes out. Enjoy!
