One of the harder tasks for a sniper is figuring out wind speed so as to make windage adjustments. One of the easier ways to determine wind speed at target range is to look at flags in the wind. Angle of flag from flagpole divided by four gives approximate wind speed at target. Now wind speed may vary between shooter and target, but at distances like what happened Saturday, the difference is not likely to be huge.
I noticed an American flag behind Trump in that one of a kind photo. The Secret Service should remove all flags near the President for exactly this reason.
I would forward this to Secret Service but I am sure it would get lost in the bureaucracy. Hopefully, whatever program monitors the blogosphere for threats on the President’s life will catch this and whoever evaluates such material will forward it as a positive aid.
